Hi folks,
This may seem like a "dumb" topic/question. But believe it or not, several hours of googling resulted in NO clear consensus.
Essentially, I am using the Auzentech Prelude 7.1 PCI sound card on a Core i7 system running Vista64 SP2 (soon to be Win7). It's connected via analog out to a Yamaha stereo receiver and PSB bookshelf speakers, so I believe I'm able to notice minor differences in sound quality.
My question is regarding the volume control in Vista. What should it be set to? My previous experience with Creative sound cards was the Audigy 2 ZS - and people "at the time" recommended that volume be set at 75% MAX in WinXP otherwise clipping and some sort of harmonic distortion was introduced by the sound card.
Is it the same case with this Creative-based Auzen sound card on the Vista OS?
If so... any recommendations for maximum volume setting if I just want to control volume on my amp?
