Yup, the got an official partnership a few weeks ago. No, they will not be getting married in San Francisco. One of them is addopted, so its not incestual. They have been living together for a few years. You know what else, one is married!?

Anyways, did I mention that they are doing this just so that they can get good health insurance? Time to take back from the man!

The funny thing is, if they are in a jurisdiction that allows this, and if both were unmarried, then they would not be milking the system and can rightfully do so. Yes, there are states which allow family members to qualifiy for partnership status, not as a way of recognizing incest, but as a way to allow situations where unmarried adult members can benefit from the insurance benefits. Think of two sisters who never married. If they live together, the state essentially says, why not give them the isurance and tax benefits of a "relationship" status?
