sounds like flu
is it common for the trunk lymph nodes to be a target of infection with an upper respiratory pathogen?
I have the flu quite a few times in my life, and a few other odd infections from time to time. I don't think I have had a swollen lymph node anywhere other than my neck.
The shoulders... can't say I've ever had those swollen and tender, at least, I'd expect some obvious pain that I cannot recall having ever felt.
