and they stole my 42" plasma, 3 weeks ago, but they left my box like they were taunting me. I am sad.

If anyone stumbles upon a "hot" Soniq plasma, please let me know.

a little bit of the coffee because i remembered how much i wanted to play fallout3, but i can't bring myself to play it on a 19" regular tv. and i had just bought it too.

Wow that totally blows. Nothing more of a piss off then walking into your place and see stuff missing and/or broken to some asshole who can't work like everybody else for their stuff.

Hopefully he can be tracked down and caught. File it to the Police if you have not.

police report has been filed, contents insurance has been purchased...lesson learned. the tv was only $900, and soniq is a cheap chinese knockoff brand

Pretty sure if you bought that TV with an Visa/Mastercard they cover theft within a certain period (last time I read the documentation it was either 60 or 90 days).

just call your renter's insurance policy provider and show them the receipt. As long as you have a police report, you should be able to get that covered minus your deductible. If you do not have renter's insurance w/ replacement policy, shame on you (and look into getting it).

If you only lost $900 worth of stuff that you can get by without count yourself lucky. It does kind of sound like an inside job though if that's all they grabbed, like they knew it was there and grabbed it.

Man, I feel your pain. My house was broken into last year... bastards took my 58" DLP and my brand new PS3 (barely 3 weeks old). Fortunately insurance picked up the cost of a new TV (61" Samsung, woohoo!) so it wasn't TOO bad. Could have been a LOT worse... I'm more vigilant now about protecting my valuable stuff.

I've always wondered how people can steal large TV's like that

It was hell trying to move my TV into the house, and the amount of noise required would have woken me in an instant.

OP, I live in your area and I think I saw a guy carrying a big TV like you described down the street. The looked up the specifics and the area and turns out the guy is wanted for other burglaries as well. Here's a link to the wanted poster/description.

Good luck and I hope this guy is caught and put to justice!!!

My apartment got broken into ~12 years ago. They stole my Nintendo 64, my favorite clothes and some other random things. Then a couple weeks later I noticed that my checking account was about $400 light. They had stole some of my blank checks and had cashed them.

Cops couldn't do much...they didn't even take prints.

a burglar burgled some homes around where I live although he freaked out because of an alarm and hasnt turned up here since then, didn't burgle my home fortunately although security is good where I live
