My Antec SX-1040 came with wrong PSU

I just picked up an SX-1040 and rebuilt my game system it in. However, when I was done, I noticed the power supply was a PP-403X,
instead of the PP-412X it is supposed to have (it's printed on both the box and listed in Antec's product specs oage.).

Now, from Antec's pages on the PP-412X and the PP-403X, the only difference is that the 412X has ATX12V (thus, "Pentium 4 compliant&quot😉. But, the PP-403X in my case _has_ the ATX12V connector.

Has Antec shipped SX-1040's with the 403X? Or, was my local comp distributor pulling a fast one?

I'll note that from the fan on my PSU has wire grill cover as in this picture of a 412X rather than the stamped cover as in this picture of a 403X. So, perhaps my supply _is_ a 412X, but with the wrong label!

One other worry; when "burning" in the system by playing UT, MBM4 popped up for the first time ever to indicate that the 3.3V was at 3.05 and out of the +/-5% spec. I never had this with my previous (InWin) case & 230W PSU.

(I love the SX-1040 case, BTW)

I bought an Antec case recently too. It lookslike it was returned and resealed at their factory. I guess even manufacturers are trolls!

I got a PP-403X in my case too, and I orderd it from Onvia, but this psu is P4 ready... so I don't know what the difference is....

Don't know but my psu seems to have trouble with w2k, when shutting down, and the the Shutdown button doesn't work,,, It worked on win me, which made me think that W2K is the problem... Do you have any problem like this???

I just bought the 1030B and put an enermax 430w in it, the psu is of a higher quality and voltage rating than the antec. I know thats not what you want to hear, but just a sugestion. And as far as getting the wrong psu, I would not worry about it unless you find out that the one you were supposed to get has different voltage ratings. And the shutdown problem, that isnt necisarily psu related, but more likely motherboard.

The antec PSUs I had, and I had 4 of them, all worked for me, not saying that the enermax are bad, but why should I spent a hole lot of extra money, what is wrong with the antec?

And I am running the KK266-r, what do you mean, a setting problem? I know that the connections for the leds and buttens are pretty bad, so what do you think,,,?

I really wouldn't know whats wrong with the shutdown problem, but I do not think its psu related. And what I meant by motherboard was a bug/compatibility issue with win2k and the mboard, and how it powers off.

Well I got two different Motherboards, the iwill kk266 and the suttle Hot 66, both run w2k, and both have the same problem, so I wouldn't know what is wrong completely different psus, so heck what is going on... BTW,,, Has nothing to do with the topic

It sounds like you may have gotten a first batch of the SX1040 that the PP403x, you can contact customer service to get the PP412X. 1-888-542-6832.

OK. Will do. Thanks.

I just want to add that I think this case is really sweet!

What I can say is that the HDD bay is pretty bad, it vibrates, and the case doesn't insolate any of these vibrations,,, I had to build my own scilent drive, and put the case on rubber feed...

Keep in mind I don't run a Hairdryer, no delta, hold on, I used a delta, but only a 5000RPM one, and this drove me nuts, till I hooked up my 60 to 92 mm adapter, and still too noisy,,, A computer gotta be quiet, at least as long as you wanna have ears to hear....

Big a§§ noise problem IMO
