I just picked up an SX-1040 and rebuilt my game system it in. However, when I was done, I noticed the power supply was a PP-403X,
instead of the PP-412X it is supposed to have (it's printed on both the box and listed in Antec's product specs oage.).
Now, from Antec's pages on the PP-412X and the PP-403X, the only difference is that the 412X has ATX12V (thus, "Pentium 4 compliant"
. But, the PP-403X in my case _has_ the ATX12V connector.
Has Antec shipped SX-1040's with the 403X? Or, was my local comp distributor pulling a fast one?
I'll note that from the fan on my PSU has wire grill cover as in this picture of a 412X rather than the stamped cover as in this picture of a 403X. So, perhaps my supply _is_ a 412X, but with the wrong label!
One other worry; when "burning" in the system by playing UT, MBM4 popped up for the first time ever to indicate that the 3.3V was at 3.05 and out of the +/-5% spec. I never had this with my previous (InWin) case & 230W PSU.
(I love the SX-1040 case, BTW)
