My ankles are very, very sore, can anyone help?

First things first - I am seeing a doctor about this soon. However I am wondering if anyone here knows anything.

Right now my ankles are VERY, VERY sore. They are so sore that I cannot run on them and even when walking they hurt. In particular, the front, inner side of both my feet are extremely sore.

They are not swollen; they are very slightly bruised.

The pain came after two weeks of agility drills.

Does anyone know what's wrong? Would it do any good to apply hot or cold to it?

Someone help.

 
Soak your feet in ice water for 20minutes, and then warm them up naturally by doing gentle range-of motion exercises (like writing the alphabet with your toes). You can repeat this a few times. This will help ease the pain a bit and return some functioning.
 
sounds like you over did it...

ice & an nsaid like advil or motrin IB... 400 to 600mg 3 x a day with some food in the stomach

Yes, you over did it.

The tendons will adapt in time and the discomfort will go away, but it does take time.

What are the taping procedures? I had a few soccer girls that I talked to that told me to do that BEFORE our tournament this past weekend; I didn't listen to them...
 
there is a knack to taping ankles.. most trainers &amp; coaches can show you how... hard to describe... also taping only lasts for 1/2 so they have to be redone at the 1/2 time.
