I am using the Bios that came on the board, and it is dated 9/26/2001.

I have downloaded the .EXE version of this latest AK31A Bios (EE), but am wondering:

1) Are there any changes of great importance from the on that I am currently using?
The readme file dosn't seem to indicat anytnig, but I still wonder.
2) Has anyone had any problems flashing the BIOS on this board?

Thanks in advance for any and all comments,

If everything is working fine, why bother? You can go to the shuttle website HERE and find out what the latest BIOS changes are.

Download the latest bios to your documents file. Then click on the award icon, and wait 20-30 seconds until the white block appears on the screen, showing you the flash is complete. Then reboot into bios, save and exit. Very simple.

oldie,

I just want to make sure that I got this straight.

Are you saying that the BIOS update can be done from within WIndows, and it actually works?

Yes. A dos screen appears while in windows when you click on the award icon. You must wait for the flash to finish completely (20-30 seconds) before doing anything. The white rectangle signifies a completed flash. When it's done, you can close the window, and reboot, go into the bios, save and exit, and when you check the bios version at the top of the screen, you will see the newer version.
