Kind of a pain to walk from the entrance to terminal E though, especially with baggage....its right at a mile in length.

Yeah, and those looooong hallways with the moving sidewalks are just creepy, no matter how much they try to spice them up with sculptures and paintings.

That being said, terminal E is a pretty cool place to hang out, as far as airports go.

I have 3 major airports nearby and I'm certain that JFK has trains and NWK has a monorail. Not sure about LGA.

Ever been to Vegas, they have them too. So does Newark. They are called "trams" to move from terminal to terminal.

The space like twilight zone tunnel at DTW is kinda cool though, and they have a W hotel adjacent to the hotel with a nice bar. Too bad it still ultimately leads to DETROIT

My airport has less than a 500 ft walk between the front door and the far gate. When I lived in Cheyenne, the walk from the farthest parking spot to the gate was less than 300 feet. I fail to see how a train beats small.

My airport also has free parking.

20 minutes. One day. A month. Don't matter. Free.

my airport has planes, trains, buses where the later two are part of the subway system connecting the airport to the city.

About my favorite thing about Detroit Metro Airport is the fact that I live about 4 miles from it yet just about never hear a plane.

If they ever change their flight paths I could be totally screwed.

With the wife traveling for business, Belleville for the win.

DIA > DTW

We not only have a train, but by land size is the second largest airport in the world,
9th busiest in the world.. yours is only 12th in the USA
DIA has the longest runway in the world
Free WiFi
Plus Denver is a thriving city with jobs.. I've lived in Detroit.. and it sure wasn't that :p
And to top it all off we have Billups back home :D

My airport doesn't have a train. They do have a john deere lawn tractor that pulls the luggage cart from the plane to the baggage claim area. Three flights a day. Parking is right by the front door. Overnight parking is $2.00 a day. They put an envelope under your windshield wiper and you deposit the money in the honor box when you leave. Not a lot of choices with the flights but it sure is easy to get in and out if you don't mind flying a turbo prop to Memphis. I have been the only passenger on a flight on one occasion.

mine will have ~73 international destinations as of march 20, 2009, which is #1 in the US, iirc (and maybe in the world). it's also named intercontinental, none of this pussy international BS. it also has a train.

The train in DTW is so beyond worthless. There's no real reason to ever take it, IMO. The damn colorful tunnel doesn't serve much a purpose either.

My airport has a mall inside it.

PHL probably has some bullet holes in it somewhere... does that count as "cool"?

Atlanta has the Marta (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) which services the metro area and the airport. It's sort of a half-assed system if you ask me.

I dunno, it seems like it works pretty well to me. I've only used it once, so I don't know much about it though.

Also, it can't possibly be worse than SEPTA. :p

Marta has so many issues, the biggest being the very high crime rate in the system.
