Not once have I had a video game which has consumed more time than City of Heroes. Last night was another 2am jam session. Only the last 4 days in a row in fact, with one night off to watch the episodes of SG1 and Atlantis that I miss not having cable anymore.

This is rediculous, even worse then when I used to play DAOC.

Or maybe I just have way too much time on my hands.

Oh well, time to go log in... :D

MMORPGs suck your time and money. Thats why I'll probably only play WoW through the beta period. ;)

I dunno about the money part. If I wasn't playing an MMORPG of some sort I'd probably buy even more games and spend way more than the 10-15 dollar monthly fee theat these games cost. In fact if you look at how many hours of entertainment you get for that monthly fee it is by far one of the best bang for buck deals out there......

Like a movie costs about 7.50-9.00, then you have to buy drinks and stuff too, and that is only for a couple hours of entertainment. Most people who play online games play at least 20 hours a week or more....a way better bargain than a movie.

I'll never pay $40-50 for a game and then continue to pay $10-20 per month in order to play it.

Until you realize that it's possible to get it for $30, spend an additional month or two to level your character up hardcore, and then eBay the account for $200.

$140 is enough to buy some decent RAM or a video card or heaven forbid, a nice sized harddrive.

hrm... I used to have an addiction to counter-strike... I kicked it and you can kick this too. Eventually you will realize the entertainment you get from this game will be worth nothing to you in 5 years.

I don't understand this addiction.

I've been playing Asheron's Call for nearly 4 years and I still go to bed by 10pm every weeknight. Just shut off the freakin' computer. It will still be there tomorrow. That's the cool thing about MMORPGs.

Where did you eat 5 years ago most? What movie was your favorite 5 years ago this month?
Can you answer those without thinking more than 30sec?
Pretty much no entertainment is worth anything to you 5 years later so who cares what he spends the entertainment funds on.

i'll have to somewhat disagree w/ that...since i bought my house, i think i saved so much more money staying home playing FFXI than i would have going out, etc....(not encouraging playing whatsoever though..i do have friends who need to stop and learn to enjoy REAL life)....

However, i will say it did suck to go back into the real world.....i was downtown shopping yesterday and there were some ppl i wish i could nuke...

Uh, that doesn't even seem like a profitable side job. You would make more delivering pizzas one night a week.

Maybe if you figured out a way to automate and mass produce high level characters for selling on ebay. But that would probably violate the TOS for whatever game you're planning to profit from.

Selling of game accounts or game items for currency is against the Code of Conduct in Asheron's Call.

yes, maybe, however it certainly is more a enjoyable way to make money other than god forbid actually wasting gas money and not being insured while you drive those pizzas around.

I've been like that for quite a number of games. I've played counterstrike and diablo 2 very late into the night, but I usually stay up late anyways hehe

Heheheh...I'm hooked too :) The missions are repetitive, but the powers and team play are so fun that that can be overlooked.

I'm Above Average Man. I usually play on Virtue, so give me a hoot if you see me!
