My Acer H233H has suddenly gotten darker

The top half of my 23" screen has gotten darker (the over all screen brightness has dropped significantly). My windows mouse pointer is BRIGHT white.

What should I do. Its about 6 months old. It was working fine until now. Bought it from BBY I guess I should send it in for evaluation, but is there a way I can test the monitor to make sure its an issue and have an exact thing to write in the repair order.

I changed to "graphics" mode on the screen and upp'd the brightness so its a bit better, but top to bottom the brightness difference is noticeable.

Questions should I send this in for repair and get another brand monitor?
 
you should RMA it and buy a new monitor to use till you get it back, then run 2 monitors when you get it back.
 
so weird, i was going to start the RMA online and i notice it is back to full brightness.

I am going to monitor this monitor for a bit.... but its back to normal for now.
