Probably not. We already have Geforce 8500 in 2007 and Radeon 8500 from 2001.

Considering 9800 is a 2003 card, it's fair to say the average joe today will not even know what a Radeon 9800 is. At the same time a knowledgeable computer user will know the difference.

Unless ATI were to reintroduce Radeon 9800 today, it's a non-issue imo.

9800 PRO advantages over 8800

1. Probably floats better due to being lighter
2. Is much cheaper
3. Its colored red
4. Uses less power and is quieter
5. Is less prone to theft
6. Is more portable
7. Less vulnerable to predators due to small profile

I think the 9800 has lots going for it!
