Snagged this card for 249 end of December (Canadian dollars, but it does not make a difference these days).

Speeds:
stock e-VGA 8800GT
600/1500/900

OC'd w/ HR-03GT
700/1650/100

My HR-03GT has 120mm Yate Loon attached to it by ULTRA 120 wire clips. I have mounted the HSF towards the bottom of the case with the fan below it. It took all my slots :(, I may rethink the orientation later

Temps:
Stock Cooler + Stock Clocks (w/o updated BIOS for Fanspeed unlock)
Idle 57C
Load 90

HR-03GT + Stock Clocks
Idle 38C
Load 52

HR-03GT + OC'd
Idle 39C
Load 55

I am happy with the results :)

congratulations ... that last number is 1000, right?
OC'd w/ HR-03GT
700/1650/100?

how much practical difference did it make in FPS ... or did you have a chance to benchmark before and after?

Fixed thanks :)

I didn't really benchmark at all. But Crysis in a certain map went from ~28 FPS to ~32

I am playing DiRT mostly right now and it is smoother in levels with other drivers now.

Am I oc'ing using proper method? What do most people use to artifact test? If using ATI Tool how long should I do the artifact scanner. I noticed I tried doing the artifact scanner for some long time, I left for 10 mins came back and it had reset 2 mins ago, So it might be artifacting on my current settings.

I have not noticed any artifacts in any games thus far.

cool, that is a nice improvement

and just monitor your temps ... and remember to check them occasionally as dust will build up in the best HSF air cooling solutions.

Or maybe he can't. Mine reaches only 685 mhz on the core, no matter the cooling.

Reduced shader and mem to test out core.

Got to 740 but then ATI tool went yellow, is that considered artifacting? It did not state any errors found

Tell me, does your cooler make contact with the VRMs?

Because i'm water cooling my 8800GTS' this weekend and i ended up putting BGA ram sinks on my VRMs because the water block didn't cover them.

Thanks!

HR 03 does not lie on the voltage regulators

BUT it did come with small heatsinks (similar to ramsinks) which I placed onto VRM

You will probably be successful at a higher OC if you do the bios vmod. 700/1650 is pretty low. I was at about the same OC as you and was able to go to 740/1850 with the mod.

I bought a Accelero S1 cooler with the fan module now running at 760/1800/1020 still testing to see what else I can get temps don't go above 55 degrees at load idle's around 38-39..think i may do the vmod this thing looks like it can go way higher

Hi! Sorry for digging out an old topic, but I recently bought an Asus EN8800GT 512Mb and got started in overclocking.
I got the Rev2, the one with the big fan.

I can't get my overclocks past something like 645/930.. AtiTool gives me scanning artifacts after that :(
I think these are really low values, did I just get a 'not-so-good' card? I was thinking on doing the volt mod and replacing the stock cooler with the Accelero S1. Do you think that would help me get higher results or should I just quit?

Thanks in advance :)

i suppose that is the problem, xGx

ive oc my rig today

mobo: Abit AB9 QuadGT
proc: Q6600 G0
ram: Crucial Ballistix 800 mhz (2x1gig)
gpu: BFG 8800GT OC (625/1566/1800)
hdd: 2x320gb seagate
....blah blah

STOCK ---> OC:

Q6600: 9*270 ---> 9*360 (3240)
8800GT: 625/1566/1800 ---> 712/1728/1000

ran 3dmark with no OC at all, only GPU oc and both gpu and cpu oc

the results:

stock GPU/stock CPU: 3dmark06 v110 ---> 11699

http://i39.photobucket.com/alb...e171/nogalo/stocks.jpg

oc GPU/stock CPU: 3dmark06 ---> 11908 (702/1674/1000)

http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e171/nogalo/gpuoc.jpg

both oc`ed: 3dmark06 ---> 13591

im running all hardware with stock cooling so the temperatures could be lower but since i made a few fan adjustments in rivatuner im perfectly fine with those. on stock clocks with stock fan speeds my gpu was going to 92C after just half an hour in Crysis, after adjustments with both cpu and gpu oced gpu was reaching 85-86C. i set rivatuner to return gpu clocks to stock if temp goes to 86C and that happened after about an hour of playing. however, didnt notice any artifact and system was perfectly stable all the time.
interesting tho, although i didnt push the cpu to its limits i gained a nice overclock of 800mhz per core with NO increse in temperature and noise from the cpu fan. so unless it makes a difference on higher clocks (3,6 and more) i dont see a reason to buy a better cpu cooler. the stock one seems to do a pretty good job and its absolutely noiseless, even after an hour or running overclocked. on the other hand, im buying a better gpu cooler asap.

and in case u wonder how much was the speed increase in Crisys the answer is 0-5 fps, mostly 0

I've got a decent card I think, I hardware volt modded and currently am at 850/1900/950ish
not by the desktop atm. solid as a rock but very warm even with water cooling^^ Suck it 9800GTX!
