i know each of them hold strongly held opinions ... but then it has always been this way

this current public display of disrespect can only get worse and *infect* the rest of the forum ... unless all parties make a real effort to get along

all these arguments - as far as i can see - are each based on "part" of the total picture; everyone seems to have each just a piece of the picture ...we simply don't have enough info to make concrete conclusions - certainly never enough to call each other "trolls" because of our differing opinions

and it is NEVER good to cyber-stalk someone from thread-to-thread ... it is very immature ... this thread is from LAST year ... it was bumped for the sole purpose of attacking the OP

you guys don't want the senior mods in here, do you?
-we can fix this ourselves!

I agree, but in AZN's defence, he didn't bump the thread FROM last year, he merely bumped it from 4 days after the last activity in the thread. But trust me, I don't want to defend him because I personally don't really care for him. I think if AZN was removed from the forums and one other *ahem* peace would be restored in the forums once more... :D

As for his thread crapping... I agree... This was a VERY informative thread that BFG provided us with. I am not sure why you would want to attack someone who is doing testing for free, testing the community wants.

actually it cannot be an official 'mod warning' as Keys participated in that thread ... if this keeps up ... i guess he will call the Senior mods to take action ... this needs to *stop* right now ... we can handle this among ourselves

my POINT was that this thread is about "My 8800 Ultra CPU Scaling" - valuable info - and it was bumped for the SOLE purpose of ridiculing the OP

BFG you are a genius to come up with that conclusion. All hail BFG. :p

What is it recently with you two guys? . . . . all these rude personal comments and snide remarks are getting really annoying [i would guess] to MOST of us.

Azn, there is no need to come into someone's thread just for the purpose of crapping on it :p

BFG. AZN, KEYS all seem to get into it. But, AZN does seem to be the perp...

Why? Because you accepted BFG and not me? Favoritism might have something to do with your opinion.

I say something about some architecture then BFG replies to tell me I'm wrong and I've been proven wrong before when there was nothing proven. He comes to all my threads reply to all my posts flame bating crapping on my posts.

We do some benches and prove some theories where BFG's has been proven wrong on multiple accounts and therefore I'm the perpetrator. His usual flame bait cat and mouse game like 3dmark fillrate tests don't matter, COD4 is primitive, tells me I said something I never said, disabled his SP to tell me I'm wrong when he saw 50% drop in frame rates when he also disabled TMU and so on.

And I thought this was tech forum to discuss but what we have is political correctness with misinforming the people. Rodney King said it best after he got beat up by racists in this country. Can't we all just get along. :music:

I wouldn't take Azn seriously. He has already received a mod warning in the last thread on this.

Notice this is the thread is same where I said something about architecture and then BFG comes in with his wits... Yeah the thread got out of hand. I take responsibility.. And that's the end of that.

Azn, if you don't keep your trolling out of this thread I'm going to report you.

You obviously have no interest in my results so that's fine; feel free to stay away from this thread.

If you want to rehash other arguments then do so in the other threads, threads which are still awaiting your reply I might add.

Where I noticed the most benefit from overclocking was moving my Q6600 from 2.4GHz to 3.2GHz. Speeds above that are purely for benching in most cases as far as games are concerned. I got a nice boost in "Oblivion" cities at 1680x with viewing distance maxed on actors and other such things moving from 2.4-3.2 with a 8800GTX. Particularly when looking across a city, aka full depth of field in play.

Examples-

Q6600 @ 2.4 stock GTX 4xAA + HDR + 8 AF all on, distance and detail sliders far right or 100%-

Q6600 @ 3.2 stock GTX 4xAA + HDR + 8 AF all on, distance and detail sliders far right or 100%-

FPS is higher in both cases if you keep the sliders below 50%.
