i had higher score with my old system(stock)
before i had 3400 1mb cache (clawhammer) w/ Asus k8n-E Deluxe Mobo
on 3dmark05 i hit'd 5964

now im on A64 3200 s939 (2.5ghz)
same memory (166mhz 2.5.3.3.7 1T HT 4x Mutl.10x)
ran 3dmark05 only hit 5909..

people were saying a 939 3200 would be faster than a 754 3400 after OC.. i thinki really have to think twice on that. :/

wow, thats weird. dunno what to tell you, all benchmarks point to the winnies, especially at 2.5, and I would think the dual channel would be faster in loading than the single channel, so I really dont know what to say.

Hmm. Are you saying 754 doesn't support dual channel? If so I just may pop in another 512 Meg stick in the final slot.

why should 939 be faster? :p

there is no reason to go 939 strictly based on a performance standpoint UNLESS you are going to buy a $500+ CPU (not available in 754) otherwise the 2 platforms should run basically the same.

my S754 setup flies, I couldn't be happier :)

3dmark is almost an entirely GPU benchmark, different CPU's shouldn't affect it very much. If you wan't to compare the performance of you CPU's run PCmark or Sandra or something.

What bother's me about your 3dmark scores, is why is your 6800 outbenching your Ultra?
I would check for updated nvidia drivers, something must be off with the Ultra. It should crush the 6800 in 3dmark5

possible that £Dmark likes the 1mb cache, but hey wow was the bench with the new 6800Ultra?? it should tear apart the eVga, leading me to believe you havent installed chipset /agp drivers or something, or just that you used same vid card for both 3dmark test hehe :l. AND if you were using the 6800LE on both 3d mark tests, your CPU would not matter at all. do some superpi test or somethn :)

That's right. But...

... unfortunately the spec for the memory controller says that filling the third slot will not allow you to run on 400 MHz.

Many mainboards do support that anyway but be warned.
