My 6800NU is slower than my 9800NP

Maybe I missed something...

PNY 6800 non-ultra

Deleted the ATi drivers, uninstalled the card

Installed the 6800, hooked up the molex connector

Turn on p00ter, installed 66.93 drivers.

Getting 1361 in 3dmark 2005

That can't be right...can it?

Went back to the 61.76s and still getting in the 1300s.

Forced vsync, AA, and AF to off

What's up?

Is there a way to tell if the card is getting power through the molex? I've used several different plugs. Thought maybe that was the problem.

Edit: Woops, forgot rig information

P4 2.8 HT
1GB Muskin DDR400
74GB Raptors in RAID 0 (not that it should matter)

Google "Driver Cleaner." Try running it to more thoroughly get rid of all of the ATI video files. Then, I'd uninstall your nVidia drivers, and then reinstall them. See if that helps.

i always format when switching brands (or every 6-12months whichever comes first)

i havent formmated once (a year and a half) and have switched video card brands once. Wheres my cookie...i was seriously thinking about doing it last week but its a hassle🙂

i'm getting 3900s in 3dmark 05 with my 6800nu...
i had a 9600pro, so yeah use the driverCleaner3 program

Ok this might be a little off topic, but does anyone actually have any proof that when switching brands(ati to nvidia or vice versa) that the old driver causes problems or slows down the card?
Everyone says to use driver cleaner, format the computer or whatever. Do you guys seriously think that some old ati driver is being used by an nvidia card and its slowing it down? Theres a reason why nvidia names its drivers NV4_disp.dll or NVthis and NVthat.
I just hate it when people dont know what the problem is and give out useless advice, except for alp 🙂
