my 60 gb maxtor just died, past its 1yr warranty by 4 months

i already bought another maxtor 160gb before having this prob, and im wondering if i should purposefully destroy it before the 1 year to get a new one again, because if this one dies as well slightly past its 1 year warranty, its gonna suck

Also, buying Maxtor = first mistake.

contact maxtor and see if they are willing to go out of their way to do something for you.

My maxtors are fine, 80gig thats 2-3 years old still going, and a new 160gig thats half a year old. luck of hte draw.
