So I'm guessing the best thing I should do now is contact xbox support to get my prepaid shipping label. How long should I expect to go with out my 360? What were your experiences like? Thanks!

What kind of chipset can I expect in return? Is it going to be an older one that throws me into a cycle of RROD and returns?

mine took 10 days from the time i submitted the request online. I think now though you don't even have to wait for the box if you don't wan. That could speed it up.

Both times I sent one back it took about 4 weeks from calling MS to getting refurb back. This was over a year ago, closer to 2 years, dont know if MS has improved the turnaround.

Mine took right around a week from the time I shipped it. Just got it back on Thursday in fact.

Oh... if you haven't gotten the label already - be forewarned, I was told I would get an email with it. They do NOT email you with it. As soon as you get the reference number, go to the XBox site, punch it in and print the label from there.

I just sent mine off not too long ago. It took about 4 days to get the box and everything then I shipped it off the same day I got the box which was a Thursday and they got it Money then they put in notification that is was repaired and about to be shipped on this past Friday, but it still is just "Billing Notification Received" so I am hoping it gets shipped out today and I should have it back by Wednesday.

I am pretty sure a year ago it took 3 - 4 weeks (initial phone call to receiving a working unit).

I had to send mine in about 1.5 years ago and it took a little over a week from the initial phone call. It was surprisingly fast and hassle-free.

I'm so glad I never bought a 360. I'm the laziest guy when it comes to sending things back (mail in rebates, etc) and I would probably just end up buying a whole new system.

Well in my 5 (yes I said 5) RRODs that I have had it varied from 2 weeks to 1 month. This was two x360s though. But still 5 is just stupid.

Good luck, I have since learned and try to get most new games for the PS3s, never had a problem with them.

what kind of units did you guys get as replacements?

I had a soon after release model and I received the same one back even though Falcons were already out. No HDMI either. All they did was add another fan but it never RROD again.

I actually traded it in to Gamestop for 120.00 with the deal a couple weeks ago. Then I traded in a couple games I was done with, the 20gig hd(i had already bought a 120g) and got a new arcade unit because my 3 year warranty is almost up. I actually ended up getting 11 dollars credit back.

mine died in October, exactly 13 months after I bought it.

Filed the claim online, got the box 2 days later. Dropped it in the mail and a new one was back in my hands maybe 6 days after that. So maybe 9 days overall w/o my box.

Also got my zune fixed using the same procedure, and it was very fast. Overall I'd say MS has a pretty good return/replacement program.

for anyone who has recently sent in their RRoD, when you got it back, did the xbla licenses automatically transfer? (did content work offline after you redownloaded all the content?)

it looks like the rrod box i just got back hasnt been relicensed, so i have to be online to use my content. insight anyone?

Log into xbox.com and you can check to see the serial number of he console your purchases are tied too. If it is still on your old console, you can switch them over.
