My 24x burner took like 10 minutes to burn a file, why?

I have a 24x Plex, and I burnt and ISO file and it took me about ten minutes total. When it shouldve taken me at least four minutes at the most. What could be wrong. I was using CDRWIN 4.0a and Win98SE. The burning light would go on, stop, go on, stop, go on, stop all the way until the end of the burn. Then I tried burning another .cue/bin sheet and it frooze up on me totally. I couldn't find the enable dma in my device manager either. WTF is going on?

Hm... first try Nero or Clone CD... if that doesn't work.. 98 could have some type of issue with it... not too sure though...

has it done this before, is it a new system, possible a VIA chipset if so are the 4 and 1 drivers installed ? could it possible be the cd's you are using !

<< enable DMA?

Is it burnproof? My LiteOn 12x10x32x Burnproof burns full 700mb CD in 4:20~ 😎
>>

Are you sure, that's impossible. It should take around 7 min to burn 700 mb with a 12x burner.

No I am NOT kidding.. and I thought 4:20 was slow for 12x.. MAN I FEEL LUCKY!!!!

😀

it's 4:20~5:00.. and 5 mins is RARE.. that's only when I'm running thousands of programs at once (burnproof managing causes delay?)

it's usually 4:30~ 😀😀😀
