I believe after 21 days of the dell policy you dont' get new monitors you'd get refurbs

21 days = no questions... new monitor

About a half a year after I got it, I had to replace my 2001FP because it just suddenly died on me. I got a brand new one.

i love my 24" Dell Widescreen (can't remember the model #) running OSX and XP using a DVI switch = Ultimate setup. 😀

Sounds like a firmware patch is on its way! I'm soo glad I don't have to send it back!
How is this even remotely related to food?

Please, try to stay on topic.

Actually you do have to send it back. Dell has to apply the firmware.

Also, its not so much a fix as a compromise. The only way they're going to solve the problems is with new internal components. The fix disables the faroudja image processing in desktop mode, and so it gives you the opportunity to choose to give up the image processing or else suffer the color banding.

Are you totally certain of this? They package refurbs a lot like brand new ones (including the plastic film over the screen and everything), but the panel itself is not new. As far as I know, they don't even label it any differently on the box or anything.

In one of the recent articles, Dell stated that after only 15 days you'll get a refurbished monitor as a replacement. There's some inconsistencies, considering they have a 21 day Total Satisfaction Gurantee.
