My 2007FPW just arrived!!!!!

I just set it up, and it does demostarte the banding issues everyone's been complaining about, so as soon as it gets recalled its going back...

But I'm sure as heck going to enjoy it in the mean time...

This is quite the upgrade from a big-ass 17" flat samsung CRT that's like 6 or 7 years old!


My first lcd, and I got lucky in that it has no dead pixels, there were a few that were stuck when I first turned it on, but some gentle pressure on the screen seems to have kicked them back into shape... score!

I got in on the $358 + tax offer, it was like $389 shipped...

I got mine on Monday and I still haven't seen any banding. I've tried it with HL2 and Morrowind.

edit: Also, I paid $352 total for mine (coupon).

I saw the banding problem on the 2007FP and it was only really visable when looking at a gradient scale like this. In everyday use or in gaming I couldn't see it at all.

Much like the "backlight" problem the info is spread around the internet like wildfire so something that most people wouldn't even notice is nitpicked like crazy.

I do think this problem should be fixed however as there is some kind of flaw in the DVI processing.
