Going to bump this thread. I've owned the car for 3 and a half years now. I daily drive it and put around 12k miles a year as well as a 1,000 mile trip in 3 days. I've done preventative maintenance and have had new winter/summer tires/brakes, some fluid flushes and a cracked coolant reservoir replaced. That and the obviously oil changes.
Other than that, there has been no major problems and I've been surprised by the overall reliability of this thing. I might have been lucky but from what I've read on forums, these cars are a very good buy. I wish I'd got the manual transmission though. Anyways just figured I'd update this thread.

Pics! Always had a soft spot for these ford-jags; especially the 5speed sport version.

I'll have to get pics for sure. Won't be for a couple weeks as I've been car pooling with my GF until winter when I get my winter tires put on the X-Type.

That is essentially an AWD Taurus :) If it were not for those headlights and badge, it could pass as a Ford's bread and butter car. Interior definitely came from Ford parts bins.

Maybe so, however it's not a Taurus. It's based off of Ford Mondeo which is a respected car in Europe. Not trying to talk up my car though as I've ridden in nicer cars (m3 BMW) but it is a nice car for the money. Still looking at getting a GTO!
