I wonder if instead the father laughed it off, the dude would still be banned?

I think it's a stupid ban. I mean, the guy was obviously joking.

Nice, if he hasn't already, maybe try out the free education version of Maya. Seems to have some real talent there.

so that guy was banned for making a "tasteless" comment? how is anyone supposed to know what is merely considered "in bad taste" (but acceptable) versus what is off limits?

so Thread - Worthless = Pics?

people dont understand math very well, do they? you should have used an arrow, not an equal sign.

No, that equation is correct! The info in most of these threads besides the pics is pretty much crap.

maybe. sometimes the inappropriateness is what makes stuff funny. People link to that photo of that halloween costume of the priest with a boy on his crotch.

yeah but 80% of comments on ATOT are "inappropriate".. and with the Michael Jackson case in the news, there is a constant flow of jokes about adolescent boys and/ or sexual abuse here on ATOT. So why was the comment in this thread suddenly considered to have "crossed the line"?

edit: and let's be frank, no-one took that guy's requests for nude pics of 14 year old son seriously, everyone knew it was a "bad taste" joke. I don't see his comment as hugely more offensive than any of the dozens of jokes on the topic of sexual abuse/ Michael Jackson/ adolescent boys made every day on this forum. It seems very harsh for him to be banned over his comments, to my mind.

Sometimes it's obvious, like using racist slurs (even as jokes). But this instance is in a gray area here.

The point is he provided no hint of humour thru grammar or punctuation. I, as much as many other people, am fed up with the media circus that has become child pornography, but he should have hinted humour in the post.

That's not what I'm saying, buddy. What I am saying is he shouldn't expect other people to assume he said it jokingly, least of all the Father. If he used an emoticom or a J/K the whole thing would have probably been averted.

there is a difference here. with michael jackson, its not personal. this is durocsharks son, and that brings it much closer to home. i agree, a lot of stuff on here is very inappropriate, but it isnt personal, and therein lies the difference.

most of the time, it is serious. it is said jokingly but you know everyone is hoping the person will follow through with pics (in most cases).

cmon now be reasonable

youve seen the whole parody post thing done before

someone makes a thread saying theywent somewhere/did something with their sister, girlfriend, brother and pet dog - the posts usually follow with: "pics?", "pics of mother?", "pics of brother?", "pics of sister having sex with dog??"

thats merely all I was doing - no one should have even taken this kids age in to account of anything that I posted because you know its a joke - everyone knew it was a joke except the OP who overreacted - and yes he DID overreact, dont say "WELL ITS HIS SON OMG BAD TASTE LOL!" becuaseyou, i, and everyone else who posts on this board know what kind of humor lies within - its expected, its frequented, and its never against the TOS. until now

the mods, the OP, and bigsm00th are being terribly naive and ignorant solely for the sake of proving me wrong, when 98% of the board - themselves included have made snide, or tasteless comments

2) dont know/care what a "neffer" is, but none of my posts had been purely to troll anyone if thats what you're getting at - i was no different a user than anyone else

In this context, the concept of subtraction doesn't even make sense. And yet you're complaining about the equals... Find a better way to spend your time, you math nazi. :p
