My 1.4 only 1.050?

naw, i have a 1.4ghz and my multiplier is fixed at 10.5 on this a7m266 and im getting 1.4ghz out of it

Ok, back from work. THis is what I ordered from newegg: AMD ATHLON THUNDERBIRD 1.4GHz 266MHz FSB Socket A PGA PROCESSOR.

It shows a C after the number. 1.400C. Does this mean that it is rounding off or what?

C is the Athlon revision.

This happened on my EP-8KHA+, but it only detected the wrong speed for the ram. It was set to SPD, but I changed it to 133.

'C' is actually a heat gradient. This is the temperature your Athlon will reach in 7 seconds with no HSF:
1400 Deg. Centigrade

if the CPU is still locked then unlock it and bump up the clock to 14 x 100, if it's for a neighbour then they aint gonna know much difference between a 1400 on a 100 or 133 bus, will they?
am i dumb for what i just said?

Bandwidth between the CPU and the memory would be less. Not that you'll notice a speed diff.

just set it to 10.5x133

that will give you an FSB of 266 (like newegg said). Currently you are running 200mhz fsb.

10.5x133 is the correct way to run it. the C doesnt mean close enough, it's the athlon revision like somebody else said.
Just do it and kill the thread already

look i know that you dont want to confuse this guy about how to unlock or anything but i would have thought if you can build a computer you can unlock a CPU.
also if you have crappy RAM a higher FSB can sometimes make it unstable, i have absolutely CRAP RAM and i cant go above 112 even though i have an ATHLON 1.4 C, 133FSB and an ASUS A7V133-R.
