Hello, I'm new to this site, and would like to ask for advise on the build I'm planning on buying tomorrow with a budget of approx. £800. I spent a long time on deciding what parts to get and finally i made my mind up, here they are:

Motherboard
Asus P8P67 EVO R3 P67 Socket 1155
GPU
Asus GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB GDDR5
CPU
Intel Core i5 2500K
Case
Coolermaster CM690 II Nvidia Edition Tower Case
HDD
WD 1TB 3.5" SATA-III 6Gb/s Caviar Black Hard Drive
RAM
Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz/PC3-12800 XMS3 i5 Memory Kit CL8(8-8-8-24) 1.65V
PSU
Corsair TX 750W V2 PSU
Optical Drive
Samsung SH-S222AL

I'm going to use this computer for part time gaming on a 24" TV 1080i
I'm going to order the parts from Ebuyer.com and the total is £787.75.
This is going to be my first time build, and i would like to ask for last minute changes or advise and also do i need anything extra to buy e.g cables or thermal paste? CPU comes standard with thermal paste already applied, but should i buy it and apply more?

Sorry for all the question, but i hope you can help me.

Thanks
Tomas

Same performance as the HDD you listed, much cheaper.

I would suggest that motherboard instead.

You dont need to spend that much on the PSU, that one will be fine.

Use the money saved to buy that GPU.

http://www.ebuyer.com/240498-g-skill...0666cl9d-8gbrl

Use the money saved to buy 8GB of RAM and also Sandy bridge HATES 1.65v RAM get 1.5v like the one i linked.

The case isnt my favorite but whatever floats your boat there.

I would suggest a HSF like this one.

Also pick up a small tube of AS5 for your TIM.

Thanks for your advise, though here what i think.
Samsung Spin F3 aren't reliable as WD 1tb black, and reliability is very important to me.
Motherboard i choose has simple CPU tweaking etc. that gigabite doesn't support Ram with more than 1333 MHz, and asus just has a nice look and many more features.
Also Corsair 750w TX is very reliable and efficient PSU, 80+ certified, and i will require more watts in the future when i will upgrade my GPU to SLI, and im not gonna go with 6950 because as you probably noticed by the case im a Nvidia fan boy =] Only thing im going to change is the RAM, i did read somewhere that sandybridge recommends to have maximum 1.5 v Rams, so il probably go with these. http://www.ebuyer.com/274413-corsair...8gx3m2a1600c9r Please back your self up if you can.

I just dont want to go with unreliable stuff, i know they're cheaper but id rather spend 100 or 200 more on the build but have all parts with a good brand. All i really wanted to find out is if it's compatible and wount have any problems with it

Okay see my post count? Yeah i have been suggesting builds for quite awhile, I have also built SEVERAL of my own. This is your first build. Almost everything you said was false or just stupid. I can respect not wanting to go AMD on the GPU because you had a bad experience, but turning down a better card for like 20 pound more is stupid. And no you WONT SLI, that is just not true, by the time you SLI a better SINGLE GPU card will be out that will be a better buy. (why buy a 9800 to SLI when you can get a GTX 460 that uses less power)

Show me figures that say the Samsung is less reliable i have 8 in RAID 10 that have been running for a year and a half.

RAM over 1333Mhz is a waste of money dont fool yourself. That motherboard is just as good as the one you posted except for a few small things. It isnt any less reliable.

The RAM you selected was 1.65v (not compatible)

Ok what about if i go for GTX 570, would that be a good choice or is there a better card for that price?

First off, I agree with everything that mnewsham said. You're being a bit hard headed to be honest.

No, the 6950 2GB is much better bang for the buck. If you want a little better performance for a little more money, check out the 6970. Not as good of bang for the buck as the 6950 2GB, but better than the GTX 570.
