Actually I'm not too fond of my MX700 either :(. It's too heavy, and I find it hard to pin point pixels (and small buttons for that matter) on my screen. Much much easier with my regular OEM logitech optical wheel mouse. It's a shame. But I do like the forward/back buttons and the fact that it's in fact cordless :).

the odd day of the month i could easily use my mouse for 10 hours straight

that's why the mx-500/ mx-510 are better :)
cordless sucks

(anyone who knows me knows I am anti-cordless)

word.

sorry to bring back an old thread, but I had a question about charging my mx700 so I figured it's better to use this than to waste a whole new thread on it.

When I use my mx700, for the best battery performance, do I have to let it drain completely each time (usually takes ~ 3 days) then stick it in the charger to recharge completely, or can I just stick it in the base whenever I'm not using it (when I take a shower, head to class, etc. etc.) and take it out whenever I need it? I'm afraid constantly taking it on and off the charger is going to prematurely wear out the battery. Are my fears legit, or am I just being paranoid? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but I really don't know much about rechargeable batteries, and I'd like to not have to buy new batteries before I have to :)

I've had mine for almost 2 years, and i'm still on the original batteries. I let them die down to the point where the red warning light flashes, then I put it in its' cradle before I go to sleep. After 9-10 hours of charging, it's good to go for another FULL 2-3 days. The mouse is incredible for gaming, i'm really becomming quite the sniper on HALO :)

nihm batteries do not have memory, charge at will. nihm batteries are also so cheap that it is not an issue to waste time fretting over. i use cheapo no-mem 2000mah batteries in mine. just slightly better then the 1700mah included, ..and just cuz i can:) not to mention the charger seems smart enough to stop charging when full anyways. the charge light turns off after a couple hours. nicad are the old type of batteries. they have memory and are found in ultra cheap devices, they hold less charge. only use is for super high drain like rc cars.
