MX700 For Extreme Gaming?

Get a wireless optical mouse like the alraedy suggested Logitech MX510.

I have a older Logitech optical mouse and its still going strong.

@ anyone who has the MX500 or 510: how rigid is the cord? I currently have some sort of generic Logitech ball mouse and the cord is so rigid is came folded and like 9 months later it *still* retains that shape, gets in the way a lot 🙁.

Illissius, I was playing games with a wireless mouse, but since have gone to the MX510 and I'll never look back! 😉 The cord is very plyable, I really like it...

OK then, I was looking at the MX510 myself, just wanted to make sure 🙂.
Now if only I could find a place that sells them. Hungary sucks 🙁.

My dad has a MX700. God it glides across the surface. Also i cant notice any difference or any lag on it. Then again im running a *gasp* intellimouse 3.0 wired. I cant notice a difference. The one wirelesss mouse, the only wireless mouyse i have ever used besides that, is the Intellimouse Optical wireless, that was HORRIBLE!!! But then again i think it was broken because it kept getting nocked off my desk and well you know lol. Anyways it was broken before that, well that little story was off topic but the MX700 is probably the best mouse i have ever used, and i would highly recommend it.

I have tried a MX500, but i use a MX700 for gaming as for the extra weight i think it makes the mouse handling even more precise (for those millimeter movements needed for that perfect headshot).

The MX510 is wired unless the one I have that I'm using right now was a production fluke...😛

As for the extra weight making it easier for the small movements, that must be personal preference. The MX510 is my god in gaming. I just need a friggin gaming pad to go with it now--->See post here

I play a lot of twitch games, and I have always avoided optical mice in general, that is, until the MX700 came out. I was using a very old logitech ball mouse up until a year ago, and I have a box full of optical mice that didn't cut it for twitch games. In fact, going back through the history of optical mice threads, I could probably find several places where I posted to avoid them at all costs, due to the lag. The MX700 just doesn't have that problem.

The MX700 is just fine, and after the first day or so, you don't even notice the weight.

Cordless rocks.

Actually, there is a noticable delay. Its still better than (or equal to) everything else out there without a wire. However, daddy-o's statement is wrong. If you are serious (such as competitive play) about playing any fast fps, then do not purchase the mx700. First thing, it is heavier than other mice, which isnt too much of a problem. The main problem is the very slight lag when playing with the mouse. And no, this isnt just the battery saving lag from reducing the sampling frequency when not in use. The mouse ALWAYS has a very slight lag to it. While people might say they notice no lag whatsoever, that might be true with their senses, and it might be true for you as well. However, If you use the mouse side by side with an mx500/510 you should notice a difference, especially if you twitch.


Otherwise its an excellent mouse for office work, slower games and almost anything else.
