MX518 Mouse at Target

I own 7 of these mice and paid the same as this deal for each of them. So, you could say I like these mice.

I love my mx518! It's got a great feel and response. Pretty good deal on it too. I had an mx 510, which went out on me. So, I called up Logitech and they gave one of these for free to replace it. Pretty sweet deal! Logitech rocks me socks!

I like the MX51x mice for gaming, but would probably choose something else for daily use.

The plastic is very smooth, which causes a lot of gunk to build up on the buttons fairly quickly and it needs to be wiped clean often.

It also may take a while to get used to the contoured shape.

This deal sounded good, so I went to Target and checked it out. I didn't really believe it was true...
Looked at the mouse aisle and they didn't have any of the MX518. Went to the end of the aisle (toward the back of the store), and they had 5 of them sitting on a shelf, price was still $39.99. I needed a new mouse, so I had picked up a Microsoft Comfort 3000 in case it wasn't on sale.

Took it over to the scanner and it rang up to $29.99. I was a little surprised at the unadvertised sale... thanks OP.

I've been using my mx510 for almost 3 years now and I am a heavy fps gamer and work-a-holic. This is the best mouse I have ever had and its never broken down (how did that guy go through 6??)

MX518 is one of the best mouses out there. It's extremely comfortable, and their warranty program is unbeatable!!! All you need to do is call up tech support, say "my mouse died", and they'll mail you a new on without charge!! You don't even need to send your old mouse back. My friend did this twice (first mouse died, then replacement died) without problems.

They're great mice. I've had mine for over 2 years or so I think...not one problem and I game quite a bit. I just wipe it down every so often with some kind of alcohol type cleaner, and I'm good to go. If I didn't eat so much buttery popcorn, I'm sure I'd have to wipe it down alot less 🙂

Picked one up yesterday as one of the buttons on my old Intellimouse Explorer 3 is dying.
So far it feels pretty similar to my old mouse. I still find it funny the texture on top looks like someone got angry and took a hammer to the mouse. I haven't really used it for any serious gaming yet so I haven't found out if this is any better performance wise than my old mouse.

Edit: And it wasn't advertised at my Target either, took it to the scanner and it rang up $30 though.

All I can say is WOW. I have had an original MS optical explorer mouse for 10 years now (the company I work for built the system to paint them) and My FRAG rate last night was greatly improved. I was simply amazed.

Thanks OP.

it's just higher DPI and has the adjustable sensitivity button. other than that, it's the same shape and you should just keep whatever MX500/510 you have.

Well, as much as I thought it was BS to have on the fly adjustable dpi adjustment for games, I do use it. the mx510 is a top mouse, but for gaming the 518 is better. I used the software to set up the buttons to the dpi I prefer. I think I have the upper end set at 1200 dpi. That button changes pages on the 510 I think? I never used that.

i agree this mouse is GREAT [when it works] i had 6 of them [2x 510 and 4x 518] in the last 3 years, but for heavy gaming they don't last me 6 mo. first L-button starts skipping, then it stops responding within 2 weeks after that - same issue with all of them. thank god for BestBuy's policy on exchange.

now i'm using MS 6000, feels great, works good, only down side - it's wireless

I'm in the same boat, had an original 500 and (2) 510's do this, rma'd them for 3 518's and in less than a year am down to the last 518 which has it's good days and bad days. Must be the way we are holding them or something. Tried a G5 and it was doing this in less than a month, took it back.
