MX500 - For Gaming?

Yeah for the price the MX510 is at currently on amazon ($30 for the red one, free shipping) I'd prefer that over the mx500

Like I said, go with MX510 ... but ... the MX500 is just as good ... the 510 is just better 😛

510 I believe can handle slightly more Gs when it comes to acceleration. Other than that they are identical IIRC.

Frankly, I don't think anyone would be able to notice a difference between an MX500 and an MX510 from regular use.

Yeah. Either one would do you just fine.

You won't see too much difference between the MX500 and the MX510 for gaming, but I have an Intellimouse, probably going to buy a red MX510 from Amazon for $30.

The big thing for me moving to an MX500 was the ergonomics. I had had a Logitech mouse already, so the precision wasn't a huge leap forward (it IS better...just not mind-blabberingly so), but the MX500 is WAY more comfortable...

I don't care for the shape of the MX1000. The thumb groove is too deep for my taste, it doesn't feel supportive.

I used to use the Logitech Wheel Optical (old MX300) for gaming. It rocked, but the button broke. I replaced it with an MX500 with a Func. MX500 is ergonomic, great for gaming, but whenever I steal my mom's MX300 for temporary use, I feel I game so much better. Still, I like the ergonomic feel of the MX500.

It works well for me. I've used the MX500 for BF1942, Unreal Tournament, and Call of Duty quite a bit, and it is just as responsive as I need it to be. A gaming mousepad it a good idea, though. I used to use it on my desktop, and it wasn't as good.
