mx440 & mx4000 difference?

I know they are both POS
I need just something for internet only pc so either will do fine
just wondering what's the difference btwn 440 and 4000
thanks

MX 440 is a little faster than the MX 420. The MX440 is available in 64 mb and 128mb versions while the MX 420 only has the 64mb version. Also the memory bus width of the MX440 is 128bit while the MX420 is 64bit.

Similiarities..mmm..both run on the same NV17 core..and both suck.

As far as I know they all have the same core, just go by the clock speeds and memory bandwidth. They vary some, so saying mx4000 isn't really enough to nail down a particular speed.

I'm sure that there is some small variation in visual quality based with different MFRs.

For an internet PC, with no planned gaming, any differences besides 2d quality should be insignificant.

I have a friend who plays Neverwinter Nights on his computer that has a P4 2.5 Ghz and Geforce 4 MX440 - it actually plays pretty good. NWN tends to bog down on ATI cards more than Nvidia.
