mx1000 laser mouse-choppy scroll

i've had my mouse for about a month now, and its been working great. about a week or so ago, i noticed that it was scrolling a little choppy in pdf's and stuff--but i figured pdfs are a little more intensive than other things, so i shrugged it off thinking i needed to defrag or something.

i noticed that its happening in all things now, like word, webpages, etc..even pretty bare pages like a google results page or something.

any ideas?

Sorry for the obvious, and most likely not helpful reply, but do you have the most recent software of setpoint (and your reply will be yes). I have it as well, for 3 months now, and everything is runing smoothly. However, i have a 64 3000+ and 1 gig ram..... HOWEVER, since this just popped up recentl, i wouldn't think ur specs are an issue...

Maybe also try tinkering w/ the software settings as well. i think there are settings for how the whlle scroll functions

set point's up to date and its set to take setpoints stuff over windows' mouse control. its like its laggy somehow. ive got an athlon xp2500+ and a gig of ram. seems to be alright spec wise. any suggestions? if i click and drag the sliderbar on the right side of browsers it goes fine, so i dont think its a browser problem. happens in firefox and ie. thanks
