i was looking into buying a logitech mx revolution mouse and i was wondering if this is a good mouse for gaming? i currently have a mx 518 mouse, also i read on some other forums that the mouse wheel doesnt have a button to it meaning you cant click it like a 3rd mouse button is this true?

By default, the MX Revolution's middle click is set to switch between click-to-click and free wheel movement. You can change this behavior such that it acts like a middle click. I'm currently using it to open and close my tabs in Firefox.

For gaming, I'd rather have another mouse. It's way too easy to accidentally hit the document flip trigger by your thumb, which I don't believe you can disable short of closing Logitech's SetPoint software. You'll end up stalled out of your game while you curse the damn document flip window.

If I had the money, I'd look at the Razer Death Adder for gaming.

Stick with Razer or Logitech G series Mice if you are really into gaming, especially FPS games. We are getting very good results with the latest Creative gaming mice and the new Microsoft Habu (OEM Razer design) after the latest driver updates. We will have a mice roundup in March.

i have the logitech MX Laser, and it feels fine when i play CS: Source. Are you saying theres a big difference between my mouse and a razor? Because i was curious on getting one just to see how it felt.
