I had the unfortunate experience of hearing Pink's song "Get the Party Started" on the radio(Otherwise known as That Damn Pink Song) when I caught a rather humorous edit. Where the song is supposed to go "I'll be burnin' rubber, you'll be kissin' my ass", we got to hear a cut-and-paste from another part of the song, which made the part go like this: "I'll be burnin' rubber, you'll be kissing my BENZ!" With "Benz" being from when she says "Mercedes Benz" from the beginning...and not sounding at all like it went with the song.


WTF is this? You can't even say "ass" on the radio?

Sheesh...

Listening to Nelly's tunes are worse. The amount of times they have to bleep out "n*gga" practically makes the song sound like "techno". 😉 😀
 
Censoring songs on the radio is stupid IMO. The pop crap is targeted to 14 year olds, who already have the vocabulary. It isn't going to change their lives if they hear sh*t, ass, or f*ck on the radio. Just today my *oh-so-intelligent* 14-year old sister told my dad to "get the f*ck out of my room you f*cking jackass". Yeah... radio censoring really saved her.

I would've whooped her ass and grounded her for 3 years if she ever even attempted saying ANYTHING along those lines to me! Stupid, disrespectful bullcrap like that gets one bloody lips. :|


But anywho, yes, this was damn funny... 😀
 
The radio station i listened to never censored songs for quite some time, til a group of people threatened to sue :| now it's only after 9pm or something that they can play uncensored songs
 
That's so stupid if people don't want to hear the words they don't have to tune to the station. It is as simple as that.

Well, I admit...they have to do SOME editing. It's would apply to TV the same way, IMHO. Then it would be like "If you don't want to watch porn, don't watch TV."

Actually, there is a lot less censored now than there used to be. There are two versions of the Steve Miller Band's "Jet Air Liner", one from the 'Book of Dreams' album with the line "funky sh!t goin' down in the city", and another radio edit (which showed up on the greatest hit album too) sporting the line, "funky kicks goin' down in the city".

It's funny when they dont' even edit out the whole word. Say it says "nig" *pause*. Like yeah... no one will no what that word is....
