my old abit be6-II rev2 seems to have given up. no input through the mouse port or keyboard (ps2). tried my girlfriends keybd and mouse in mine, same thing. nada. put my keybd and mouse in her machine, works fine. gutted out all the periph's except vid card, still doesn't work. then i cleared the cmos, but now when it boots it says 'checksum error -- hit f1 to continue'. of course keybd port isn't working, so that isn't going to happen. damnit!!

mwave states that they do not service warranty requests, and abit states on their website that they do not do warranty replacement. wtf??!! i am expecting mwave to handle this, since they have been very accomodating in the past with late shipments, backorders and such.

has anyone worked with mwave and their warranty replacement policy? successfull?

Most local law says that the dealer is only responsible for the first thirty days for stuff like DOA's, missing parts, and infant mortality. After that it is the manufacturer. The manufacturer supplies only the stated period of warranty. A motherboard with one year warranty fails after 51 weeks. Even if it is replaced with a new one the warranty only lasts one more week and then you're on your own. Every time a car dealer works on your car it doesn't reset the warranty although in some cases the replacement parts may have a warranty of their own if you pay full price for the parts.

I have some experience with Mwave and bad parts. Trouble is, my board arrived F'd up. But they were very good about sending me a new one(they actually sent 2 new ones because there was a mistake with shipping, I wanted it 2-day and they sent it ground and then I bitched and they sent another one). But anyway, I called the tech support and they were very good about trying to help me out and so forth and it was actually all in all a postive experience. I think if you call them and are nice and friendly they will try and make every effort to accomodate you. Good luck.

yep. just got off the phone with them.
they said they would rma it, and look and see if they had a replacement for me. hey, it's an old board i understand that.
bought it in 9/2000. not sure what we will do if they don't have it in stock though.

i have to say *ALL* my experiences with mwave have been positive.

Bought a plextor CD from them. Not sure if the add was wrong, or they just shipped me the wrong box as it came without cables. Either way, they shipped me cables no fuss.

That was nice of them considering OEM drives don't come with cables.
