Like the title says, EA Sports released MVP 2005 a week early and for $29.99
I went to EB Games today and they had the PS2 and XBOX versions out to play with. Seems good so far 🙂



It seems that Frys now has it for $24.99. Don't know about Outpost.com

pretty kewl game.. 2004 was way to easy for me.
of course i had a modded team and all that.
but im getting my arse kicked in 2005.
harder to catch curves/slowballs.
i play on mvp mode of course.
 
2005 has some nice new features. I went and tried the mini games before starting up a real game or a dynasty, and I think it helps. Even if 2004 was easy, this got me used to the pitching changes that have been made.
This game always comes out at the end of Feb. just to get everyone geared up for Spring Training. You have to go get the rosters adjusted though, I've read that there will be some adjustments.
Anyways Great game so far.

Is this the steroid free version?

Bonds isn't part of this game. They replace him with a white guy with his stats. so.... 😉

bonds wasnt in 2004 either.. they dont pay him royalties or something so he doesnt allow them to use his name. in 2004 i renamed the dowd guy to bonds and changed skin color, etc. and then when hes up they call him bonds.

Before you buy the game call your local GameStop to see if they are still doing the deal where if you trade in any EA 2005 title you get MVP 2005 for $9.99. I traded in NCAA 2005 which normally would have a trade in value of $6, so I basically saved $14.
 
I'm amazed how quickly everybody forgets that EA is responsible for yanking the rights to NFL football games from Sega. That was the last straw. The best way to fight such tactics is to not buy ANY of their games.

and i also hear that Sega will try to yank EA, from creating any more MLB games too

if that was true, that would not be cool...

EA revamped their entire baseball game when they created the mvp franchise and it has been playing great ever since. mvp stomps on sega's mlb2k line unlike football where madden and nfl2k are pretty much even.

I haven't forgotten I JUST DONT CARE. MVP is a great game and is selling for $29.99 not the usual $50.
Bonds is missing because he's not part of the Players Association and thats where they get their rosters from. I noticed Matt Herges relief pitcher from the Giants is missing. Dont know who else....


With Bonds in 2004 you can change Dowd's name to be Bonds make him a lefty, and change his appearance (color) and the broadcasters will call him Bonds ?!?!?! LOL
