Mutiple Nics Question

If my main rig has an onboard Nic, can I install a PCI or ISa nic to also use to connect to another PC or Laptop? I guess if I had a Hub I would'nt have to worry about it. 😉

No problem.

Just set one NIC to DHCP or whatever you use(Im assuming you wanna connect it to a cable modem or something similar).

Set the other NIC to a private address such as 192.168.1.1, and have the laptop set to 192.168.1.2 or something along those lines.

**CONFIRMED**

If you only have 1 other pc, then its way cheaper to buy a cheap NIC than a HUB. Just get your settings right for each NIC and no prob!

A network crossover cable. Available just about everywhere.

I connect my laptop to my main rig via a crossover cable. Now it sounds like I can add yet another PC/Laptop via a Nic and Crossover cable.
Sweet thanks for the info! 😀
