Mustang GT vs LS1 Trans AM

2003 Mustang Cobra - 390hp of 4.6 Supercharged goodness. It lays the smack down on Corvettes and eats Z28/TA for breakfast 🙂
 
Depends. If new, then Mustang by a large margin. But I've always had a soft spot for the '80s Trans Ams. Probably from too much Knight Rider as a kid.

I took the wife's Z28 out today to give it an oil change(it hasn't been driven since Oct.).

Let me say that GM muscle put a big smile on my face.

And then there is the Z06...
 
If it's a 99-03 GT then the GT...if it's a SN95 94-98 GT then a LS1 TA. The Mach1 is pretty frickin' fast though...new cams and intake manifold (lifted from the Navi) makes it a low 13 second car on par with the TA.
 
Depends if you want power or not. The TA has had more power than the GT since 1993. I prefer power so, I have a 98 Z.

You don't need to do anything to the LS1 TA and already be low 13's. Even a few high 12's BONE stock. Haven't seen any GT's or Mach1's do that yet.

I know that. I'm a bigger fan of Mustangs than I am Camaros/TAs. I know LS1's are fast - I've seen my share of LS1's rip off massive times at the 1/8 track in Sanger and the 1/4 in Ennis bone stock that embarress their counterpart Mustangs, but I'd take a Mustang anyday over a Camaro/Firebird.

The T/A has more power, more torque, better gas mileage, an awesome 6 speed, a good aftermarket, and it can be made to handle quite well. plus i think the Mustang is a chick car.
