I finally replaced my 5 yr old P2-450 MHz with a brand new kick-ass PC.

What are the Must-Have games that I missed over the past few years?

The last game I played on the old box was Diablo 2.

Thanks

Don't like the clickfests huh? I have to say there've been quite a few worthy RTS games since the P2 450 was a decent system ;)

Well, must have FPS and RPGs:

FPS:
Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault makes for an awesome single player and multiplayer experience.
No One Lives Forever 2. Great graphics and plot. Singleplayer is all i've played.
I assume you know of Counterstrike?
Course the upcoming Halflife 2 and next year Doom3...

What specs on your new rig?

RPG:
Morrowind + its expansions.
I've heard good things about Gothic and Gothic 2, but cannot substantiate myself.
Baldur's Gate 2
Icewind Dale 1 and 2.

You into MMOs? If so there's an FPS/MMO named Planetside. Haven't played this either, but there's probably not much better for a serious FPS with some serious time :)

The only RPG MMO worthy of mention IMO is Everquest. Everquest 2 is being released end of this year, with World Of Warcraft from Blizzard early next year.

Someone asked system specs:

Mobo: Asus P4C800 Deluxe
CPU: Intel P4 3 Gig (800MHz)
RAM: (1G: 2 x 512) Corsair LL (TwinX) 512MB 64MX64 DDR467 CMX512-3700 With Heat Spreader.
Hard Drive: 2 x Seagate 160 GB SATA RAID 0
Video Card: Gainward GeForce 5900 Ultra
Sound Card: Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum
CD-RW: Plextor PlexWriter Premium 52x32x52x CD-RW (ATAPI)
DVD: Toshiba 16x DVD Drive IDE INT
Case/PS: Antec 1080AMG Performance Plus ATX 430W
Fans 2 x Antec SmartFans
Speakers: Creative Labs MegaWorks 550 THX 5.1 Dolby 5.1
Keyboard/Mouse: Logitech Cordless MX Duo
OS: Windows XP Professional
Runs good but way too loud. Gotta get new fans.

I have Morrowind, RTCW for the XBOX, Vice City for PS2.
I have BG2... was playing it on the old box... got pretty far then my hard drive blew up...
I have DS.... bought it and was never able to play it!
Unreal 2... do they finally have Gamepad support? I didn't get far in Unreal 1 because it wouldn't work with my gamepad... I hate playing FPS with KB+Mouse.

Right now I'm playing SWG.

You don't find rigs better than that...well done.

For your new case fans I recommend Panaflo or vantec stealth.

Don't like playing FPS with kb/m? Gamepad?! Man, you must get kicked all over the place in multiplayer...

I wouldn't worry bout Unreal 2, it's nothing special. Graphics are great but the plot swiftly becomes dull. I played for 3-4hrs and gave up.

Thats a hell of an upgrade from a P-450. Good system

Did you win the lottery or something or finally got a real job:)

GTA vice city ---lots of playing time
Medal of Honor + spearhead expansion pack

If you have broadband I have been addicted to the free "RTCW enemy teritory" online multiplayer.

I agree, you really stepped it up in your comp, I'm jealous. I'd try Raven-Shield, but I'm a sucker for Rainbow Six games (of which this is #3).

Singleplayer:
MOHAA (best SP game I've played, great atmosphere)
MOHAA - Spearhead (short, but even more authentic WW2 atmosphere and lots of fun)

Multi-player:
Rogue Spear
MOHAA
Battlefield 1942
Desert Combat (BF1942 mod)
Eve of Destruction(BF 1942 mod)

Here is a run down of what BF is all about plus the 2 mods I mentioned.

I was a Rogue Spear addict for almost a year. Then I played MOHAA nonstop for about a year. I had just started playing Counterstrike for a couple of weeks when I discovered BF 1942.
I've been playing BF constantly since it was released about 10 months ago.
I've never gone back to CS, but I still play MOHAA occasionally.
