must have games for gamecube?

a friend of mine couldn't resist the $99 price on the gamecube and picked one up. he has tony hawk, mario kart double dash, and smash brothers right now. what other games should he pick up? i'm thinking madden '04. any other suggestions.

on a different note, anyone excited about splinter cell 2???? looks like it's going to be an awesome game. live! play looks like counterstrike, but only with a more strategic/role playing angle, spies v. mercs.....hot titties.

Eternal Darkness is a definite must have. I bought Viewtiful Joe the other day and it's an awesome game if you like old school platformers with style.
I'm playing Resident Evil right now. Sweet graphics.

SSX3 is holding me smooth for a while now, as is the Zelda compilation disc and Soul Calibur II. Bunch of other games I plan on getting in the future.

I think Madden would be weird with a Gamecube. It's got such a weird button layout.

I have no problem at all with Madden 2004 on a cube - it works well
