<< You know what I say, get the FUG OUT if you don't like it!!!!!! >>

That's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. If everyone did that, we'd be living in the English colonies right now, paying taxes to the king.
>>

If you don't like the laws, they by all means go some place where they'll let you do whatever you want. There are certain things that happen in this country that many people don't like...but they accept it. If a person doesn't like the law and can't except it, ADIOS!

I have little tolerance for Mickey Mouse BS like this.
>>

Alright, so if a law was passed requiring you to do something... lets say wear a yellow star on your clothes every time you went out in public, for identification, you'd either accept it, or move to brazil? You would be pissed at anyone who challenged the law? I'm glad Washington and Adams didn't think like you.
>>

If EVERYONE was required to do it and it didn't single out one particular party, then I don't see a problem. Everyone is required to have their picture taken, she is no exception. Maybe she should move to Vermont 😉

Maybe I shouldn't have said get the f*&k out, that was an anger statement as this whole case PISSES ME OFF.

I'm really not arguing either way on the woman in florida, I'm just arguing against the "if you don't like it, then leave" mentality.

as the dmv always says: driving is a privilege, not a right.

well, what about jehovah witnesses? they dont stand for the national anthem or pledge allegiance to the flag! commies! *sarcasm*

the reason why they dont have to have pictures in vermont, is because everyone there has full lumberjack beards, and have names like paul bunyan, so those things would be useless anyway.

ohh god. How dumb can these muslims gets? First of all she shouldnt drive if it violated islam. But Florida should not give in to her demands. What a bitch

ROFL 😀

If she lives in the US she can take the Veil off and do things OUR WAY! Its our laws and our rules. If she doesn't like it she can go home.

Watch out for notfred, he's coming in for the kill 🙂

Notfred needs to realize that our laws were in place (regarding licenses) before she came to America. We didn't inflict this rule/law on her just because she is Muslim. We did because we need a facial picture to identify her. Also, if she doesn't like our rules regarding licenses she can take a bus, taxi, etc. or she can move. We don't change laws to suit people on a whim. Our laws (most of them) make sense.

<< If she doesn't like it she can go home. >>

I'm not arguing that she shouldn't have to take off her veil, she should. But if she's applying for a driver's license, this most likely is her home. Just because she's a Muslim doesn't mean she can't be an American.

Oakenfold:
Hail the leader. Can u also put in a bunch of religious holidays in that religion? And allow polygamy too?

notfred is entirely correct, she should not be expected to leave. but she should follow the laws. if she wants to challenge them, that's entirely within her rights. but she's an idiot for doing so, and we're all free to make fun of her 😀

<< But if she's applying for a driver's license, this most likely is her home. Just because she's a Muslim doesn't mean she can't be an American. >>

I agree; however, I was stating this because most people consider "home" the location in which they were born or where they originally descended from. Even though I lived in NC for 99.9% of my life I still consider Florida my home.

I think she has a legitimate reason not to want to show her face, however, the law is there for a reason also. I think the law should be upheld. but it isn't a cut and dry case

ROFPIMPLOL!!! Why do you think the Pilgrims came to America? Why did the big periods of immigration during the late 1800's and early 1900's happen? A large part of the people who came to America came because they didnt like it where they lived and decided to get the FUG OUT!

I don't know whether to laugh or cry

I do know that it is without a doubt the STUPIDEST thing I have heard in a long, long time :disgust:

The fact is a driver's license is used for an ID in many, many instances.

Like mentioned already a driver's license is a privilege not a right.

p.s. when you starts riding the bus she should be charged 10 fares for all the money
she is going to cost the state of Florida :|

I didn't say that it's never happened, I'm saying that it shouldn't be the only choice. No nation would ever improve if people just moved away every time they had a problem.

And like i already said, I haven't taken any position on the Floridian woman.

as far as i see it, no photo without the veil then no licsense for the applicant. driving is a priviledge provided by the state not the right of every individual. she doesn't like the law then there's always walking, bicycles, taxis, buses, friends to leech rides from, etc.

<<

<< I don't see what the big deal is. In vermont you don't even need to have a photo on your license. >>

what? thats crazy, hard to believe.
>>

Believe it or not, if you want a picture ID, you pay a few dollars more for the pic.

I spent over a year in the Mid-East.... And in every country that claimed the women would wear the veil, they also were NOT allowed to drive....

The Quran does not require the veil....

But we shouldn't slam muslims due to their beliefs....

She should adhere to the law and then fight to change it if she doesn't agree...

they wouldn't let me where my hat when i got mine done. i wonder if i can sue. hmmmmm.

~erik

oh. and what if she's writing a check and needs a photo id? um, nice veil, we need to see your FACE now. k thx.

I can't imagine any court actually hearing this case. It's rediculous. We use photo ids here for your driver's license. You don't want to show your face, then you don't drive. We aren't making a special exception for her. I cannot go get a picture with my hat on, so neither can she. I don't think religion plays any part in this at all, and I'm assuming the courts will side this way.

<< My religion requires me to be anonymous and pay no taxes. >>

<< "Help! Help! I'm being repressed! Come and see the violence inherent in the system!" >>

well said...and funny.
