Muslim Extremists Invading Britain? Could this ever happen in the U.S. ?

Why should we change to adapt to Muslims who hate our way of life?

Would Islamic societies change to accommodate us?

I detest Muslims anyhow, and we don't need them in our space. Closed-minded fucks who wish to push their Shariah law onto us lol..

This is an ongoing problem, and not a single event.

Oddly enough the festival was held for years (at least over a decade) without issue - with many Christians (and jews and atheists) in attendance. It might be hard for you to admit but the problems only started when both sides started spewing hateful rhetoric. You may try and act all high and mighty about the Christian protesters but they were there with an agenda. Those panflets handed out? Many of them had 'God hates you' and 'Mohammed was a child molester'. Lets not forget the pig's head mounted on a spike and other distasteful and hate filled slogans

The festival has long had Christian missionaries in attendance, and there weren’t any tensions in the past. However, that changed in 2009 after aggressive new groups of missionaries started to arrive.

Does that make what happened right? No. But America has had to get used to the idea that many of the vile and deliberately inflammatory practices of some Christian protester groups are a protected manner of speech despite the hatred they preach.

The opening post of the thread ask if Muslim Extremists could happen in the U.S.A.?

The example I provided of the lady suing the hospital, and various other lawsuits, are examples of how radical islam is going to force our society to conform to what they want.

Good thing we have no Christian extremists filing various lawsuits to, in your words, force our society to conform to what they want....

Have you watched any videos about festival?

Did you notice the people creating the problems were young men?

A culture of hate is solid in the AnandTech P&N forums.

Other sites have the decency to deter the fostering perpetuation of this culture of absolute hatred and marginalisation against a targeted group, this one tolerates extremism under a banner "free speech."

In a forum that is the antithesis of a welcoming and managed placed for reasonable discussion, the P&N actively encourages the marginalised extremism of society to come to the forefront to browbeat and discourage reasonable voices of the majority from entering into this cesspool. The P&N is not a accurate reflection of society.

Brownshirts are present.

Rampant xenophobia, and supremacist bigotry, are repeatedly expected.

It's a repeated circle for those extremists who have found a welcoming forum that is strongly admonished at most -- if not every -- other public tech sites.

Prejudice is part of life. don't let reality bite you on the behind.

There is much irony in this statement.

you're cute.

😀

irony? i oppose their attempt to change our society. can one not hold opinions, and must accept all things in life?

secondly, nobody has to like or respect another. don't let your PC agenda delude you from reality. are you sure you hold prejudices at all? lol..

Not only have I watched the videos but I have been to the festival. If you think those videos show the whole story you are grossly misinformed. Its the ideological hotheads on both sides that have ruined what used to be a fantastic festival and cultural exchange. Any attempt to wholly or mostly blame one side for this issue not only speaks to an unusually excessive amount of ignorance but only serves to widen the divide between the cultures.

I hope the move next year to a different location lessens the tension and removes the desire by both sides to import hotheads looking to create a scene

Did you not see the part where the Christians were attacked and the police did nothing? Or where the Christians were stoned?

And? look, people aren't consistent. I have family who are Muslims, and I don't detest them since they're family. Should I hate my own family members? hmm?
