So this idea has been tossed around for awhile here but I want to make it a reality.

The idea is that one ATOTer lays down some drums for a song and then the next person takes that track and adds on to it as they see fit and repost it and so on and so forth so by the time it's all done we have a cohesive virtual jam going and a cool finished product that everyone can enjoy. This could be a routine thing which would be even cooler.

I'd like to collect a list of people who are interested in making this happen and try to get it going for real.

If you are interested in this reply with what you play. The more diverse the better.. it would be great to have the standard drums, bass, guitar but also add piano/keys/synth, perhaps some sax, any other instrument you all play.

Sidenote:- aside from this project, DarkThinker is looking for people who want to contribute to an electronic project, contact him for details.

Here is the list so far:

Bass:
MartyMcFly3
aplefka

Drums:
amjohns5
JoLLyRoGer
Crackajax (time permitting)
Dimmu (over winter break)

I played bass at one time. There are probably much better bassists here than me though.

Don't worry about that, I'm sure there are a lot better guitar players than myself here too.. as long as you can record something I'll add you to the list :)

I've got an Audigy Platinum, does that qualify as recording gear? That's what's been used for most of the stuff on our site.

I've got a guitar, but no recording gear. Although if you need some stuff in FLStudio let me know. :)

I'll be able to record my drums in about a month once I'm back home on winter break (or if that practice space gets going soon :D). So put me on that list, you should know I'd be up for it, haha.

I'm definitely in, even if its covers or something. Improv is hard for us to do since you dont get that communication back and forth but I'm definitely willing to try.

I can record and can do multiple effects for my bass guitar. If you play bass and want to record I definitely recommend this.

I can play on my nylon-string guitar, if need be, though I'm not so awesome.

I like playing bossa nova-type stuff, if you ever want to venture into that.

I also have a ukulele

sounds like a cool project. i could mix it in our studio once it is done, though that would only work really well if i had different tracks for each part. may be overkill at least at first though. sounds like a great idea!

That would be awesome.. I'm sure it would be easy for everyone to just record their part in addition to adding to the main song. I know that's how I'm doing mine.

This project is going to kick ass if we can get some solid participation

Sign me up for Guitar. Just need to purchase a new mixer as my last one bit the dust. I'm moving to a new apartment this week but I'll make sure to get back on track ASAP
