And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead. Not sure now "obscure" they are now, but I like a bunch of their stuff.

I love that song, too. The acoustic version is nice, as well.

This song is at the end of Dead Like Me: Boom Boom Ba by Metisse

I even talked to the artist and she's going to allow me to use her music for my site's next version. Kudos to her record company for coming back to me and also giving the ok.

I prefer the acoustic version actually; It's my favorite song :S

Andy McKee- Drifting I picked this track do to the nice 2 hand technique, and visual appeal. He does standard playing also, that should appeal to Michael Hedges fans.

Michael Manring also records on Candy Rat records. This label is great if you like virtuosic musicians. Manring used to play with Hedges on some of his recordings, and that last track was on the newagey side. Here he plays Teen Town, a tune by Jaco Pastorius who he had studied under. You can hear the influence in his playing.

Russian Circles I really don't know much about these guys. I only have 1 album, but they remind me a bit of Pelican. Heavyish melodic music.

They remind me of Dream Theater.

Ugh not even close. That being said, I LOVE Russian Circles. Great band. I play them nearly weekly on my radio show. I knew nothing about them at first, just pulled the CD off the shelf at the station, knew the label, artwork looked good so I fired it up. Great stuff.

Russian Circles kicks ass! They don't remind me of DT at all, which is a good thing.
