It's Jazz, but slightly different. Fvucking incredible though, check out "Dirty Blonde" for something quintessential.

Since people are wanting links, try Heathen. They have their first two albums hosted on their website in their entirety and both are excellent. Think 80's Metallica meets Gamma Ray, but with two guitarists that slaughter Kirk on his best day.

well, Dream Theater isn't played on the radio and isn't mainstream, so probably a lot of people.
