You guys are so....normal.

Final Fantasy Orchestrated music does it for me. Whoever did that sh!t are damn fine composers. But don't get me wrong, I listen to alot of other garbage. It's just that these Final Fantasy Masterpieces really lift you up.

SlickWilly:

Nobuo Uematsu is the mastermind behind the Final Fantasy Symphonic Suite, together with S. Hamaguchi. I love it, it´s my absolute favourite, and I am desperately seraching for comparable music, but i can`t find it! :(

I too listen to lots of other music, from Classical to Techno to Ska, but the Symphonic Suite is just perfect. :)

Final Fantasy VIII - Fisherman's Horizon (Orchestral)
Final Fantasy VIII - Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec (Regular)
Final Fantasy VIII - Fragments of Memories (Regular)
Final Fantasy VIII - Fragments of Memories (Orchestral)
Final Fantasy VI - Celestas Theme

Are some of my favorites, but actually I love them all! :)

Pet Shop Boys- Go West
Billy Joel- We didn't start the fire
Street Fighter- Instrumental songs
Enigma- Return to innoocence/Sadness(don't ask why)
Enrique Iglesias- cosas del amor

Any John Williams score(the action oriented ones).

Not hardcore to y'all by any means but it does the job for me;)

Red, you just blew my mind!!! I honestly cannot believe that ANYONE else, in this day and age, had ever heard of Mahavishnu Orchestra! And the Birds of Fire album to boot!! I bought that album when it first came out! 'Course I haven't been able to listen to it since my turntable bit the dust, but I remember it well..... How about an album by the drummer Billy Cobham - Spectrum, or the electric violinist Jerry Goodman - Ariel?
Ever heard them? If you haven't, check 'em out! -kd5-

Any song that starts in with heavy, overdriven, enunciated guitar riffs, or songs that start out slow and build up suddenly to a breakneck speed. Pretty much any old Metallica, MegaDeth, etc.

Loud, I wanna hear it loud, right between the eyes
Loud, I wanna hear it loud, don't want no compromise.

Hehe Red Dawn, :)

Listening to Dina Moe Hum still makes me want to grab a toke! But overall, I prefer his One Size Fits All and Fillmore East, June 1971 albums. Apostrophe, Roxy And Elsewhere, We're Only In It For The Money (unlike Metallica ;)) and Bongo Fury are also amongst my favourites.
;)

Red, the Italian band wouldn't be Premiata Forneria Marconi (or PFM for short) would it? I have 1 album by them (Photos of Ghosts), 5 albums by Brand X: Unorthodox Behaviour, Moroccan Roll, Livestock (my favorite), Product, XTRAX, plus one by Jack Lancaster and Robin Lumley called Marscape.

How about a German band called Can? Or a French band called Gong? Or Curved Air? Sh*t! I could go on and on!!!

My entire album collection (465) is devoted to the extraordinary! -kd5-

I forgot to mention that I also have Weather Report, Mysterious Traveller and Heavy Weather. Tom Scott & The LA Express, Passport, Jean-Luc Ponty, Jean-Michel Jarre, and many others.....

At 16 I thought Ruth Underwood was sooooooooooooooo sexy! She could have played my bongos anytime. :)

The only PFM album I have is Cook. I saw them in Toronto in 1974, playing with ELP's old equipment. LOL

The Torture Never Stops (Frank Zappa)
