Aeris's theme always brings back sad memories. Other than that, music doesn't really make me sad. Metallica always pumps me up, though. Well, their ballads don't. A couple of specific Dragonforce songs also really, really pump me up.

This song, but most of the album as well. For some reason I listened to it a lot when my first g/f dumped me.

Listened to a lot of Jamiroquai as I backpacked Europe w/ my g/f. Mostly good times although we did break up upon returning, so these songs are bittersweet for me.

This song was the official road trip theme for the European trip, so it's also a bit bittersweet:

The Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald - Gordon Lightfoot

I got a clue for how small the world is when the boat sank and two kids in my class had relatives on board.

Wow, I remember singing that song in elementary school.

Here are my two:

Death Is Not The End
Kylie Minogue

When you're sad and when you're lonely
And you haven't got a friend
Just remember that death is not the end

And all that you held sacred
Falls down and does not mend
Just remember that death is not the end
Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end

When you're standing on the crossroad
That you cannot comprehend
Just remember that death is not the end

And all your dreams have vanished
And you don't know what's up the bend
Just remember that death is not the end
Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end

When the storm clouds gather round you
And heavy rains descend
Just remember that death is not the end

And there is no-one there to comfort you
With a helping hand to lend
Just remember that death is not the end
Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end

For the tree of life is growing
Where the spirit never dies
And the bright light of salvation
Up in dark and empty skies
Where the cities are on fire
With the burning flesh of men
Just remember that death is not the end

And you search in vain to find
Some law-abiding citizen
Just remember that death is not the end

Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end
Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end

Katherine Kiss Me - Dated a girl named Katherine and listened to that song all the time. Now when I listen to it, kinda miss being able to be immature with no consequences

I get a strong emotional feeling from Ke$ha's "Tik Tok". A feeling of disgust combined with a general hatred for the type of woman characterized by that song.

Holeee shit that's the best version I've heard. When someone mentions emotional music this is the only song that comes to mind. I literally can't think of anything else.

Speaking of which, can anyone who likes this song recommend music that affects them similarly?

I take back what i said about this song not having emotional attachments, I just listened to this version and it sent chills down my spine and filled up my "tear well". the orchestral arrangement really does a lot for a piano-only song...

Just to add a few more to the list:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BA4lfktT9BQ - 1000 Words
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22NXrY4jZnc - Suteki Da Ne (orchestral)
two of the stronger "emtional attachment" songs from FFX and X-2. Eternity's guado mix is a close third, I think.
On the other side of the spectrum, Other World makes me feel awesome, especially when I think about the opening cinematic, with Sin blasting the hell out of Zanarkand. Awesome
