My dear old grandma is 88 and lives on her own. Now, luckily she lives in a very nice assisted living place and has a lot of friends and activities, but I still like to look out for her and make sure she's taken care of. I take her out to lunch about every other weekend. One day I decided to burn a CD of some older music I had to see if she'd like it. Not surprisingly, she was very fond of it. It was just a mix CD with the Fallout 3 soundtrack, a few Louis Armstrong songs (she loves "What A Wonderful World"), and some Elvis (yep, she likes Elvis too). She said the songs from Fallout 3 reminded her of what she used to dance to.
Anyway, she can play the CD in her DVD player through her TV at home, which is good enough for her. But I'm thinking I should get her a couple more CDs so she can get a bit more variety. Problem is I don't know where to even start looking for old music. I'm sure I could find some CDs for really cheap at a used music store, but I'm not sure what to look for. Any suggestions? FYI, she likes big band style music (prevalent in Fallout 3) but not jazz. I'm thinking I might look for some "Best Of" CDs for Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong... anything else I should look for?
