Is it me or is Audio CD quality >>> mp3 CD quality?

Perhaps, but if you can tell the difference between a nicely coded mp3 or an audio cd in your car ... get back to driving!

So actually I was right all this time as songs purchased from itunes cannot used to make mp3 cds with itunes.

I guess back to 10-15 song CDs

No, but since an MP3 cd is just a data cd with mp3 files, you could:

A) use itunes or some other program to convert files to mp3, then burn the files to cd (I don't know how the licensing works...is this possible?)

B) Rip cds you burned with itunes and make mp3 files out of them.

Either way you're transcoding, which does horrible things to the audio quality. Realistically, though, you're in a car. I highly doubt you'll hear the difference.

I use 'em all the time. MP3 cds are super nice in a car setting, since you have hours of audio to listen to at your fingertips instead of having to change cds all the time. And the added bonus that you'll get to see titles pop up on the little display.
A useful reply on the first page? ATOT is going to hell. ;(
