There is incredible music being made today, but you probably won't see it on Mtv or hear it on the radio.

And let's not forget Black Sabbath

Weren't they more a 70s band? If you're including Black Sabbath, I'd like to add King Crimson and Pink Floyd (the pre-70s stuff).

Here are some vinyl style cd-r's from verbatim to get you into that classic music mood.

Vinyl Verbatim CD-R's

naaah.... I prefer the real thing, you guys have just given me a reason to start up my record player: Got "The Doors / The Soft Parade" spinning with pops, crackles and all 🙂

And I agree, although I am relatively young I do have a rather broad musical spectrum and must say the stuff from the 60s and early 70s is just great. It was exactly this that made me get a good recordplayer off e-bay and pick out the jewls from my fathers LP collection as he doesn't/can't listen to those anymore (recordplayer broken).

Maybe its just me but it seems to me that music from that time period was incredible. Some of the most talented musicians to ever walk the planet made their marks in the 60's.

Jimi Hendrix
Carlos Santana
Pink Floyd
Return To Forever (Chick Corea)
Mahavishnu Orchestra
Weather Report
Miles Davis

Was it the drugs that made some of these musicians so good, maybe it was the hippies? Whatever it was the music back then was unnaturally good.

Check out Cactus(bluesy rock) and Hound Dog Taylor(rock'n blues) next time you're in the sixties.

Edit: you could also put Led Zep, Johnny Winter, & Ten Years After on your list.

From two weeks after Woodstock
