Music for studying...

So i have always heard from people that classical music is the best... But I am wondering what do YOU use?

If you have suggestions, do you have a pandora channel specifically?

I am going to be spending the night in the library studying Financial Mgmt for an exam tomorrow... So I am trying to find music that will help...

^Agree. Instrumental or foreign works best.

In high school I liked working to di.fm, doesn't really suit everyone though.

Soft, mellow classical works best for me. Wagner, even though I'm a fan, tends to be too "attention-grabbing" for me to concentrate on books/studies/computer.
ANYTHING with vocals usually gets turned off.

When I want/need to concentrate - Instrumentals, mostly small group modern/electric Jazz. When there's vocals, I tend to listen to the words rather than treat the music as background.

I used to think Jeff Wayne's "War of the Worlds" musical was good to listen to while studying until I realized that I paid more attention to the story than my work. XD

Music without lyrics or in a language that you dont understand may help you. Music with lyrics on the other hand doesnt help as your brain is trying to process the words and whatever you are studying.

If I'm programming, I like to listen to rock, classical, or techno.

If I'm deep in thought, I prefer silence.
